This book critically examines the European Union’s approach to peacebuilding, analyzing whether its Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) is effective in fostering sustainable peace. It questions the EU’s tendency to engage in “action for the sake of action” and explores whether just peace is truly part of its agenda. Using a discursive framework of "telling and acting," the book provides a detailed analysis of three EU peace missions: 1. Artemis in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 2. EUFOR Althea in Bosnia-Herzegovina 3. EULEX in Kosovo Through this framework, the book examines how peace is built, whom these missions serve, and what impact they create. The study offers fresh insights into EU peace interventions and their broader implications for international security governance.
