The United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI) was established in 1962 to promote the sound development of criminal justice systems and enhance cooperation, primarily in the Asia-Pacific region. As part of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme Network (PNI), UNAFEI provides international training, seminars, and research on crime prevention, offender rehabilitation, and justice system reform.This publication compiles the proceedings and research findings from UNAFEI’s international training courses and seminars focusing on the rehabilitation and social reintegration of offenders. It examines best practices for strengthening probation and parole systems, promoting community-based corrections, and fostering international cooperation in the criminal justice sector.
